hotel, is a 2300 seat Beaux Arts Style theatre built in 1922
for the Orpheum circuit. After undergoing a complete renovation
in 1979, it has since played host to the "Best of
Broadway" national tour, entertaining countless
patrons young and old alike. The San
Francisco Museum of Modern Art, or the MOMA, featuring
works by Matisse and Brancusi and the photography of Ansel Adams,
Man Ray and Robert Mapplethorpe, opened in 1935 as the first
museum in the west devoted solely to modern art. Yerba
Buena Gardens and Art Center, home to summer concerts
and cultural events from May to October, is located next to MOMA.
